Our Story

Action–attainment was set up by founder and CEO Sam Silver in 2013 to challenge expectations for neurodiverse children.  Sam has worked in the community since 2002 building a network of families and professionals in SW London dedicated to improving neurodiverse children’s lives by working together.  Action–attainment’s work is evidence based and delivered in partnership with families, therapists, schools & community organisations including Brentford FC Community Sports Trust.

Statistics show why support for neurodiverse children should be about the life-changing effects of early intervention.

15-20% of the UK population are neurodiverse. Statistically their outcomes are bleak. Despite abilities that track the general population, neurodiverse children underperform significantly at school without the help they need, often having difficulty making friends and developing mental health and wellbeing problems.  As many as 88% of long-term unemployed young adults and 60% of young offenders have hidden needs linked to neurodiversity. Only 15% of neurodiverse people are in work in comparison to 53% of other disability groups.

At Action-attainment our aim is to help parents understand and support the life chances of their neurodiverse children.
