Action Learning - Problem Solving Groups
Action Learning is a well established way to ask questions and explore solutions safely with others experiencing the same issues.
A groups can now running on-line. The programme supports families planning for Secondary school transition with children from Y3 upwards.
In Action Learning parents explore challenges together, identify then try out an individual action plan. Typically parents review how their plan works and return to their peer group to share their experiences of what helped them, and maybe what didn't, before deciding what to do next. The groups are run by Sam Silver, who is a trained Action Learning Facilitator.

Individual Support for Parents
Sam Silver is available for support to families who are looking for services and help to understand their child's sensory and communication needs. Parents often want to understand:
- Assessment processes for their child
- Find other professionals with experience of working with families and children to support behaviour
- Identify schools or activities that will help the child's development
Sam has worked in partnership with parents, teachers, schools, Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language and Occupational therapists for more than 20 years to increase the understanding of children with hidden difficulties. She is a parent to three children now aged 32, 29 and 26, each has a different SEN diagnosis. Through this personal and professional experience Sam can sign post families to services in South West London.
Sam is a past governor of St Catherine’s Speech and Language, Isle of Wight, and an ambassador for the Communications Trust.
